Turn off the noise. Have a quiet time each day to shift gears. If you work outside of the home, plan just 15 minutes of alone time in your car before you pick the kids up, or rush to the store. Get a great CD or tape and play it, all alone in your car as you change states from employee to mom, wife or sane woman.

A math instructor may find that teaching applicable use for geometry might be the thing needed to illustrate the ‘golden teacher ratio or mean”‘ as a use for fraction and geometry. Likewise, the english teacher exhibited so little faith in the abilities of her charges, lacking inspiration herself, how would she be able to recognize and nurture it in her class?

Being creative is both a blessing and a curse. Creatives are often marginalized, thought of as so ‘different’ that their concepts and ideas are often beyond the scope of most other people. To draw and paint, to write and dream, to create music were not the skills valued in my home as I was growing up. Those skills and talents were not considered useful for a financially secure future. I suspect it can be said by most creatives, that their parents had ‘higher hopes’ for them than the insecurity of an artists life.

There is an old, often used joke about how to make money in network marketing. The answer, they say, is simple. All that you have to do is recruit, recruit, and recruit. Simple, you say? If you’ve been in MLM for any time at all you will know that even the most simple of things are not always easy. It takes an impressive amount of determination and discipline to stay the course even though there may not be much in the way of income at the start of your network marketing career. Although we all dream of time and lifestyle freedom, the reality is that it doesn’t happen overnight. Only the most tenacious will endure, continuing to do what must be done in order to reach the goal. Those who do will reap great rewards as they recruit, recruit, and recruit.

Outstanding teachers share a similar way of thinking about their work. The highest purpose of their work is not to just earn money (clearly!) or get results. The highest purpose of their teaching is to add real value to the lives of their students.

growkit golden teacher I will give you an example. The Northridge earthquake in 1994 destroyed my home. I was forced to move into an apartment that didn’t allow dogs. I had a beautiful blonde golden retriever I was forced to give away.

One art which I had no skill at was the making of music. Growing up, I always loved music. We always listened to music; I grew up hearing Elvis Presley, Bill Haley and the Comets and other 1950 era musicians. Over the years, my tastes changed, the styles of music changed, the musicians changed.

golden teacher Remember, students are self-centred. Many believe that because you are correcting their behaviour that ‘you are picking on them’ and/or ‘you hate them’. You might get that impression from them too. Don’t take it personally. It’s just ‘the nature of the beast’. Let what happens in the classroom stay there.

In many cases it is good to know how to play drums with both types of grips. This will allow for you to always be prepared no matter the situation.

They asked if I wanted to see a movie, and I said “sure, why not”. We drove to New Hampshire as they wanted to see a new Jack Nicholson movie “As Good As It Gets”. I enjoy his movies so figured I would at least be entertained, in spite of the depression and continued writers block I was experiencing.

A last warning: Don’t be fooled by the glitz. Often the best martial-arts schools are the plain ones … even the classes taught out of a garage. It’s the same with ezines — more often than not, the better ezines are plain-text emails.

It is more fun than kindergarten and more free than old fashioned rock concerts at the Greek Theatre in L.A. (In the nature of this play one might turn a leaf or a rock into a musical instrument and get a unique sound or one might wear costumes or make faces or pretend one is a rock star an athlete or a dancer or singer — all is allowed).

Sometimes a famous teacher lectures in Huxley or at times someone plays the congo drum or there is a classically trained musician or teacher demonstrating his technique. One of my favorite classes was with the famous Cellist David Darling and Al Huang. Electricity wildly alive in the environment. Genius at play.
